First, we connect.
Once you contact me, I will return your call or email to arrange a time for us to speak briefly about your needs, goals for treatment, practicalities of therapy, and to ensure goodness of fit. You can expect to hear from me directly, typically by the following business day. If it seems like we may be a good fit, we will then schedule a formal initial consultation either to meet in person at my office or by telehealth.
Next, we meet.
During your initial visit we will meet and have a comprehensive conversation so that I can learn more about you and your situation. I will ask questions about your current symptoms and challenges, your background, and prior treatment. Your first consultation will last approximately 55 minutes.
Working together.
I limit the size of my practice so that I can provide you with the personalized and focused care that you deserve.
Should we decide to work together in treatment, we will typically meet once/week for 45-50 minutes to establish a regular cadence for your care. Setting a weekly meeting secures you a meeting time each week, however it is sometimes possible to schedule more flexibly where it makes sense and is agreed upon. We may also discuss changing the cadence of treatment if it is appropriate for your care, especially as you progress towards meeting your goals. I am in the office weekdays; I do not have a practice that accommodates evening or weekend scheduling.
Payment.
Payment is due at each session and may be made by check, cash, or bank payment. I do not currently accept credit card payment.
In order to provide optimal and personalized care, I have opted out of private insurance and am not on any insurance panels. I am considered an out of network provider by your insurance company and I can provide a superbill (detailed receipt) upon request if you wish to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company.
I have a limited number of sliding scale patients in my practice and you are welcome to inquire if one is available.
